Research at The Mongan Institute
The Mongan Institute's research centers and programs incorporate a wide array of methods to solve the most challenging and complex problems in health care. Examples include clinical translational epidemiology, data science, predictive modeling, cost-effectiveness analysis, decision science, health disparity research, health policy, health behavior, survey research, outcomes research, intervention trials, and implementation research.
Each center is an established leader in its field and is committed to transforming health and healthcare for all and training the next generation of leaders in population and health care science. In addition to supporting research by core Mongan faculty, The Mongan Institute supports affiliated researchers and teams in the Department of Medicine and across clinical departments at the Massachusetts General Hospital.

Center for Aging and Serious Illness

The Center for Aging and Serious Illness was established in the fall of 2019 that brings together researchers across MGH and the Boston community to improve the well-being of older adults and enhance the lived experience of those with advanced illnesses.

Tobacco Research and Treatment Center​

The Tobacco Research & Treatment Center reduces the toll of tobacco-related disease by identifying innovative tobacco cessation treatments, promoting the delivery of effective treatment in the health care delivery system, and evaluating the impact of tobacco control public policies.
