Jason Hagan, MSM
Jason Hagan is the Mongan Institute Administrative Director and works closely with Dr. Bartels in setting the administrative direction of the Institute and leads execution of the Institute’s strategic priorities and programs. In addition to administrative leadership and strategic management support, Jason oversees the Institute’s financial operations, policies, procedures, and systems. This includes facilitating staff recruitment and resource development and providing leadership over the Mongan Institute’s communication program aimed at enhancing our national and international recognition as a leader in population and health care delivery research and training.

Before joining the Mongan Institute, Jason was the Manager of Research Administration and Finance for the Cardiovascular Medicine Division at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and was responsible for leading the financial management and operations of the division’s research program supporting over 150 Harvard Medical School faculty and over 300 research employees. He developed reporting and analytics to monitor financial performance and program growth and worked closely with Division leadership to ensure that programs and resources were aligned with short and long-term strategic goals. In this role, Jason received the Mass General Brigham Pillars of Excellence Award in Optimizing Collaboration in 2021.

Jason is a recognized expert in research administration and management and has presented at both the regional and national level on sponsored programs administration and best practices in financial management. He has held leadership positions on the National Council of University Research Administrators New England Region as treasurer and advisory board member and is certified by the Research Administrators Certification Council. Jason is also a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, American College of Healthcare Executives, and Institute of Management Accountants. Jason holds a Master of Science Degree in Management from Emmanuel College and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Bridgewater State University.
